Vertical packaging machines

VXC vertical packaging machine

The VXC vertical packaging machine makes the Stabilo / four-seal bag in continuous motion: where the VX works intermittently, the VXC reaches up to 120 bags per minute. Because the edges are sealed directly on the forming tube, the machine is more compact than models that seal them at the rear.

YM Packaging VXC continuous-motion vertical packaging machine for Stabilo four-seal bags
VXC 430 · VXC 520 · VXC 650

Why choose it

01

Stabilo in continuous motion

The sealing jaws seal on the move, without stopping the film, and the machine reaches 120 bags per minute compared with 80 on the intermittent VX.

02

Edges sealed on the forming tube

The four seals are made on the tube itself, giving more control and simplicity and a shorter machine than those that form the edges at the rear.

03

Five synchronised servo motors

Two 0.75 kW servos for the pull-down belts and one each for the jaws, vertical sealing and up/down travel, Lenze or Yaskawa.

04

More than Stabilo

Also pillow bags, flat-bottom bags with English fold and folding flap, and strips of bags. It accepts round, square and edge-marking tubes.

05

Premium-brand components

SIEMENS S7-1200 CPU, PILZ/ROCKWELL safety, SMC or FESTO pneumatics and SICK KT5 photocell. Omron or Allen Bradley optional.

06

Designed for the operator

Reel centring from the screen, quick connectors for heaters and probes, 99 recipes and a large rear area for film splicing.

The VXC's signature format: four seals made on the forming tube.

Strip of bags

Strip of bags

Bags joined in a strip, without cutting between them.

How it works

  1. Unwinding

The reel holder with mechanical self-centring feeds the film; the rear carriage is moved from the screen to centre the reel relative to the vertical seal, and it detects the end of the reel.

  2. Forming

The rear rollers guide the film tangentially to the collar and the forming tube, with adjusters for the film gauge, shapes the bag. Two 0.75 kW servos drive the pull-down belts continuously.

  3. Dosing

The product drops through the hopper from the dosing unit mounted above: multihead weigher, auger filler, piston filler or volumetric cup filler.

  4. Edge sealing

The four seals of the Stabilo bag are made directly on the forming tube, synchronised with the film drive.

  5. Sealing and cutting

Servo-driven jaws that seal on the move, PID temperature control and air blowing; cut by length or by eye mark with the SICK KT5 photocell and an encoder that ensures the length.

  6. Outfeed

The integrated flat conveyor carries the finished bag to the metal detector, weight control and case packing.

Frequently asked questions

What speed does the VXC vertical packaging machine reach?

Up to 120 bags per minute on all three models, depending on the product and the bag length.

How does it differ from the VX vertical packaging machine?

The VX works intermittently, up to 80 bags per minute. The VXC runs in continuous motion with five servo motors and reaches 120, and because it makes the four seals on the forming tube it takes up less space.

What is the difference between the VXC 430, VXC 520 and VXC 650?

The reel and bag width. The VXC 430 handles film reels from 260 to 430 mm for bags from 70 to 145 mm; the VXC 520, from 280 to 520 mm for bags from 80 to 180 mm; and the VXC 650, from 340 to 650 mm for bags from 90 to 220 mm.

What bag formats does it make?

Stabilo four-seal bags, pillow bags, flat-bottom bags with English fold and strips of bags.

Why are the edges sealed on the forming tube?

Because it gives more control and simplicity and reduces the size of the machine compared with models that form the edges at the rear. The VXC measures around 1850 × 1200 × 1460 mm.

What film thickness does it handle?

Up to 0.9 mm. The forming tube has adjusters to adapt to the gauge of the plastic used.

What extras can be added?

Among others, a 10" touch screen, vacuum belts with Becker pump, remote connection, inert gas, Euro hole, easy-open, P03 printer, anti-static bars, bag tapper and mesh guards without polycarbonate.
