TWIN vertical packaging machine

The TWIN vertical packaging machine combines two forming tubes on one frame, each with its own independent rear carriage, film reel and mechanics: it works as two complete packaging lines in the space of one. Designed for high speed, small rooms or packing two products at once, it reaches up to 140 bags per minute in pillow bags, flat-bottom bags, gathered-top bags and strips of bags.

How it works

  1. Dual unwinding

    Two independent rear carriages, each with its own film reel, mechanical self-centring, end-of-reel detection and semi-automatic splicing.

  2. Forming

    Two forming tubes made to the size of your bag on one frame, each with its own 0.75 kW film drive servo.

  3. Dosing

    Each tube receives product from its own dosing unit: the same product on both sides or two different products at once.

  4. Sealing

    Longitudinal and horizontal sealing by jaws with pneumatic piston, PID temperature control and air blowing for a clean finish.

  5. Cutting

    Cut by length or by eye mark, read by the SICK KT5 photocell. The encoder ensures the exact length of each bag.

  6. Outfeed

    The finished bags leave on the conveyor, ready for the metal detector, weight control and case packing.

Frequently asked questions

What speed does the TWIN vertical packaging machine reach?

Between 70 and 140 bags per minute across both tubes, depending on the product and the bag length.

Can it pack two different products at once?

Yes. Each forming tube has its own film reel, rear carriage and mechanics, so one side can pack one product and the other side another.

How much space does it save compared with two packaging machines?

The two tubes share a frame 2725 mm wide and 2250 mm deep, so it takes up much less space than two separate machines with the same output.

What is the difference between the TWIN 420 and the TWIN 620?

The film and bag width. The TWIN 420 handles films from 180 to 420 mm for bags from 80 to 200 mm; the TWIN 620, films from 180 to 620 mm for bags from 80 to 300 mm.

How does it differ from the TWIN C vertical packaging machine?

The TWIN is intermittent, up to 140 bags per minute. The TWIN C runs in continuous motion with Lenze servo motors and reaches up to 240 bags per minute.

What products can it pack?

Powder, solids or liquids. The product determines the dosing unit mounted above each tube.

What type of film can I use?

Flexible film, such as OPP/CPP, OPP/PE, MST/PE or PET/PE. An optional special seal is available for polyethylene.
