Q: How does it differ from the VXC vertical packaging machine?

The VX is intermittent, from 40 to 80 bags per minute. The [VXC](/en/industrial-machinery/vertical-packaging-machines/vertical-packaging-machine-vxc/) makes the same Stabilo bag in continuous motion, up to 120 bags per minute, with the four seals made on the forming tube.

The VX vertical packaging machine forms the Stabilo / four-seal bag, a pack with sealed edges that stands upright and adds value to the product on the shelf, as well as pillow bags, flat-bottom bags, gathered-top bags and strips of bags. It is the machine for pet food, coffee and confectionery (chocolates, biscuits…): intermittent, from 40 to 80 bags per minute, easy to use and with format changes that waste no time.

How it works

Unwinding
The reel holder with mechanical self-centring feeds the film; the rear carriage is moved from the screen to centre the reel relative to the vertical seal, and it detects the end of the reel.
Forming
The rear rollers guide the film tangentially to the collar and the Stabilo-specific forming tube shapes the bag. Pull-down belts with a 0.75 kW servo.
Dosing
The product drops through the hopper from the dosing unit mounted above: multihead weigher, auger filler, piston filler or volumetric cup filler.
Edge sealing
The four seals of the Stabilo bag are made on the forming tube; for flat-bottom bags the English fold and folding flap come into play.
Sealing and cutting
Jaws with PID temperature control and air blowing for a clean finish; cut by length or by eye mark with the SICK KT5 photocell and an encoder that ensures the length.
Outfeed
The integrated flat conveyor carries the finished bag to the metal detector, weight control and case packing.
