Sleeves and multipacks: secondary grouping and sleeving
At YM Packaging we develop sleeving and multipack systems designed to group, protect and present products efficiently, improving both logistics and visual impact at the point of sale.

Sleeving and multipacks for rigid and flexible packs
Our solutions work with rigid containers and flexible-film packs, and adapt to different product formats, grouping configurations and production requirements. Each installation is designed around the type of pack, the line speed and the product handling needs.
Thanks to our in-house engineering, we integrate these systems into complete end-of-line lines, synchronised with packing, conveying and case packing.
Sleeving for rigid containers

Sleeving systems group rigid products, such as pots, jars, cans or bottles, with a cardboard sleeve that partly wraps the group and creates compact, stable packs that look good at the point of sale.
YM Packaging sleeving solutions offer:
- Automatic grouping of several product units.
- Accurate application of cardboard sleeves.
- Adaptation to different pack configurations.
- High pack stability for handling and transport.
- Integration with downstream case packing or palletising systems.
Our equipment offers high positioning accuracy and repeatability, for a uniform product presentation.
Multipacks for flexible-film packs
Multipack solutions for flexible-film packs group bags or flexible packs, such as snacks and nuts, confectionery, coffee or granular products, into configurations optimised for shipping or multi-unit sale. They handle products of variable geometry while keeping a steady flow along the line.
Our multipack solutions offer:
- Automatic grouping of bags or flexible packs.
- Pack formation in different configurations.
- Accurate handling of flexible products without deformation.
- Integration with case packers or palletising systems.
The machines are designed around product stability, flow control and synchronisation with the production rate, for continuous, reliable operation.
All-in-one integrated solutions
Our machines can combine several functions in one frame: sleeving, grouping and case packing, to save space and simplify operation. These integrated solutions ensure:
- Quick adaptation to format or production-rate changes.
- Accurate handling of different pack types and pack configurations.
- Operational efficiency and fewer transfer points between stations.
Success stories: sleeving for rigid containers
Automatic sleeving for yogurt packs
An automatic grouping and sleeving solution for yogurt packs: the system groups the units coming from the packing line, forms the pack in the defined configuration and applies the cardboard sleeve with high positioning accuracy.
It was designed for the customer’s layout, integrated with their conveying and handling systems, and ensures pack stability, repeatable sleeve application and continuous operation at high rates. It improves on-shelf presentation, optimises packaging material use and fully automates grouping.
Automatic sleeving for ready-meal trays
An automatic single-sleeve application solution for heat-sealed ready-meal trays. The sleeve identifies the product, carries the commercial information and improves presentation, while keeping the tray stable during logistics handling.
The installation was designed around the pack, the tray geometry and accurate food handling, with exact sleeve positioning and stable operation at industrial rates. The customer automated a process that used to be manual and gained consistency and end-of-line efficiency.
Success story: flexible-film sleeving for sauce bottles

An automatic solution that applies flexible-film sleeves to sauce bottles: the system takes the bottles from the packing line and places a flexible-film sleeve around each container. The sleeve carries graphics, improves product identification and adds a layer of protection without extra rigid packaging.
The installation takes into account the bottle geometry, the flexible material and sleeve positioning, for uniform, stable application even at high rates, synchronised with the existing line. The customer automated sleeving, improved presentation and optimised packaging material.
Frequently asked questions
What is a sleeve?
A band that partly or fully wraps a container or a group of containers. It can be cardboard, to group rigid containers or dress trays, or flexible film, as a sleeve around pots and bottles.
Which packs can you group?
Rigid containers, such as pots, jars, cans, bottles or trays, and flexible-film packs, such as bags and packs of snacks, nuts, confectionery, coffee or granular products.
Does it integrate with case packing and palletising?
Yes. The sleeving and multipack systems are synchronised with packing, conveying and case packing, and integrate with downstream case packers or palletising within a complete line.
What is an all-in-one solution?
A machine that combines sleeving, grouping and case packing in one frame: it takes up less space, simplifies operation and reduces transfer points between stations.
How do I ask for a proposal?
Tell us which pack you want to group, the pack configuration and your line speed in the contact form and we will propose the solution.
