Doypack machine: stand-up pouch filling machines

A doypack machine fills and seals doypacks, the stand-up pouch with a flat base, with or without zipper, spout or valve. YM Packaging offers doypack packaging machines in two systems: reel-fed models that form the pouch from film, and premade-pouch models that open, fill and seal it. They reach up to 180 pouches per minute depending on the model.

What is a doypack pouch

The doypack is a self-standing flexible pouch: its gusseted flat base lets it stand on the shelf. It is widely used in the food and consumer industries for snacks, coffee, nuts, supplements and pet food.

It often has a resealable zipper, a cap or spout for liquids and pourable products, or a degassing valve (for coffee, for example). It is easy to use, stackable, versatile and protects the product well.

Types of doypack machine

Reel-fed. The machine forms the doypack from a roll of film, fills and seals it. Film costs less than premade pouches, so it pays off on long, stable runs.

Premade pouch. The machine takes ready-made doypacks from a magazine, opens, fills and seals them. It is more flexible for format changes, takes less space and handles complex pouches (zipper, spout, handle). Rotary machines are the compact carousel version, also with vacuum.

How to choose your doypack filling machine

Output: up to 15 pouches/min with the EPJM, up to 45 with the EPY, and 80 to 180 with the high-speed range (HFX, EPX).
Pouch: reel-fed if your production is stable and you want to save on packaging; premade if you change format often or use complex pouches.
Size: from 55 mm wide (EPRV) to 430 mm (EPX 430).
Space: the EPR and EPRV rotary machines are 1.7 to 2.5 m long.

Doypack with zipper, spout or vacuum

Doypack with zipper: resealable, for snacks, nuts or coffee.
Doypack with cap or spout: for liquids, purées or pourable products. The HFX 210 CS makes it reel-fed at 150–180 pouches/min.
Vacuum: the EPRV rotary machine fills and closes premade pouches under vacuum, up to 120 pouches/min.
