Metal detector
At YM we are experts in metal detectors: we work with the leading brands on the market, such as Fortress, to offer you a tailored solution with the best detection rates and reliability. We install them in free fall, between the weigher and the packaging machine, or on our own in-house conveyors, and our engineering department integrates them into your line, designs special reject systems and adapts them to your existing machines.

Why choose it
The leading brands on the market
We work with detector heads from the leading manufacturers, such as Fortress, to guarantee the best detection rates and reliability.
Free-fall or conveyor-mounted
Bulk product in free fall, between the weigher and the packaging machine, or on a conveyor for packed or larger products.
In-house conveyors
We build our own conveyors to install the detectors on all kinds of machine outfeeds.
Special reject systems
Our engineering department designs the reject system each product and each line needs.
Integration into your line
We integrate the equipment into customer lines and adapt it to existing machines, without changing what already works.
Finishes to suit the product
Depending on the type of product and the working conditions, we use different finishes and grades.

How it works
Infeed
The product passes through the detector in bulk, in free fall from the weigher, or already packed on the conveyor.
Detection
The detector head detects any metal contaminant in the product or in the bag.
Rejection
The reject system removes the contaminated portion or pack: a gate in the free-fall section or a rejector on the conveyor.
Line continues
The clean product continues to the packaging machine, weight control and case packing.

Frequently asked questions
Free-fall or conveyor metal detector?
Free-fall when the product is in bulk, between the weigher and the packaging machine. Conveyor when the product is larger or already packed in non-metallised film.
Which detector brands do you use?
We work with the leading brands on the market, such as Fortress, and choose the detector head that best suits each product and each line.
Can you integrate it into my existing line?
Yes. Our engineering department integrates the equipment into customer lines, builds the necessary conveyors and adapts it to existing machines.
How is contaminated product rejected?
With the reject system that best fits each case: a gate in the free-fall section, a rejector on the conveyor or a custom-designed special reject system.
Can I combine it with weight control?
Yes. The combi machine brings a metal detector and a checkweigher together in a single unit with one reject system.
Is this the right machine for your product?
Tell us what you pack, in which format and at what speed. An engineer will reply with a proposal.
