Nachos and tortilla chips have tips that break easily and are usually sold in large sharing bags. A good line weighs without knocking the product, forms a bag of just the right size and protects texture with inert gas (nitrogen) flushing.

What bag format is used for nachos?

Mainly the pillow bag, including family size. Premium ranges use flat-bottom bags or doypacks with zip.

How do you prevent breakage when packing nachos?

By reducing drop height and impacts. We adjust the weigher discharge and, if needed, use a tilting packaging machine such as the VMI.

Can the same line handle other snacks?

In many cases, yes. The multihead weigher and vertical packaging machine handle different snacks by changing the recipe and format.
