Anthropomorphic palletising robot
An anthropomorphic palletising robot is an articulated arm that turns, flips, rotates and carries almost any goods to place them in cases or on pallets. At YM Packaging we design the complete palletising cell: the robot, a bespoke gripper for your product, the conveyors, the safety fencing and the pattern logic. As well as palletising, the same robot can depalletise, mix products and feed a weighing line.

In action
Why choose it
Handles almost any product
Its articulated arm turns, flips and rotates the product: cases, trays, multipacks and packs of different shapes.
Bespoke gripper
We design the gripper for your product, to pick it safely and place it exactly where the pattern requires.
Palletises, depalletises and mixes
The same robot can unload incoming pallets, mix several products and build the outgoing pallet.
Complex patterns
It turns each case to build interlocked or multi-orientation patterns that a cartesian system cannot handle.
Integrated with weighing and control
We connect it with conveyors, weighing and checkweighing to automate the whole end of line.
Safe cell
Perimeter fencing and safety barriers at the pallet area: operators only go in to take the finished pallet out.
How it works
Product infeed
Cases or trays arrive on the conveyor, or the robot picks them from an incoming pallet (depalletising).
Pick with a bespoke gripper
The gripper designed for your product picks it safely, without damaging it.
Turning and orientation
The articulated arm turns and orients each unit according to the programmed pattern.
Pallet build
The robot places layer by layer, even mixing products on the same pallet.
Pallet out
The full pallet leaves the cell and an empty one goes in, with the fencing protecting the area.

Why integrate it
- Modular, configurable design
- High label placement accuracy
- Easy integration into existing lines
- Intuitive HMI programming
- Adaptation to different production speeds
We choose the marking technology for the pack, the printing surface and the production requirements, and combine it with quality control, case packing, palletising and the rest of a turnkey packaging line.

Frequently asked questions
What is an anthropomorphic palletising robot?
It is an articulated-arm industrial robot that mimics the movement of a human arm. It picks the product with a gripper, turns and flips it and places it on the pallet following a programmed pattern.
How is it different from a cartesian palletiser?
The cartesian palletiser moves the product along three linear axes and is the most compact and cost-effective option for simple patterns. The anthropomorphic robot turns and orients each unit, handles more varied products and solves complex patterns, depalletising or product mixing.
Can it depalletise and mix products?
Yes. We have designed end-of-line systems where the same robot depalletises the incoming product, mixes products, feeds the weighing station and palletises the result.
What gripper does it use?
A gripper designed for your product: we define it during the project study according to the pack type, its weight and the pattern.
Which robot brand do you use?
We integrate industrial robots from leading brands. In projects such as our end of line with depalletising, mixing and weighing we have worked with Yaskawa robots.
Do you supply the whole cell?
Yes: robot, gripper, conveyors, safety fencing, pattern programming, commissioning and technical service.
Already running a YM machine? We can supply the pouches too
Doypack pouches with or without zipper, spout or valve, and 3-side seal sachets, sized for your packing machine.
