The EPJ horizontal packaging machine opens, fills and seals premade pouches (doypack, Stabilo, 3-side and 4-side seal, with spout) in 6 or 7 stations, at up to 40 bags per minute. How it works
Bag loading
The pouch magazine, adjustable for the different formats, feeds the premade pouches one by one.
Opening
A double set of suction cups opens the top and the bottom; the nylon cone with bottom air blowing finishes opening the base.
Check
The fibre-optic sensor confirms the bag is open. If there is no bag, no product is discharged.
Filling
The dosing unit (multihead weigher, auger filler, piston filler…) discharges the product into the open bag.
Sealing
Top stretching station to prevent creases and double top seal with a heated silicone backing pad.
Outfeed
The sealed bag leaves on the integrated conveyor towards the metal detector, weight control and case packing.

What speed does the EPJ horizontal packaging machine reach?
Up to 40 bags per minute, and up to 30 with zipper bags. The figure depends on the product and the bag size. A duplex version from 40 to 80 bags per minute is available.
What premade pouch formats does it handle?

What is the difference between the EPJ 210, EPJ 260 and EPJ 310?
The bag size. The EPJ 210 handles widths from 100 to 210 mm, the EPJ 260 from 150 to 260 mm and the EPJ 310 from 150 to 310 mm, with bag lengths from 140 to 400 mm depending on the model.
What products can it pack?
All kinds of products, with all kinds of dosing systems: a multihead weigher for solids and granules, an auger filler for powder or a piston filler for liquids.
How does it differ from the EPJM?
The EPJ has 6 or 7 stations and reaches 40 bags per minute; the EPJM is the standard model for low and medium output, at 15 bags per minute.
What happens if there is no bag in the magazine?
The no bag, no discharge system stops dosing, and the fibre-optic sensor checks the bag is open before it is filled.
