Case packing

ECJ100 gravity case packer and case erector

The YM Packaging ECJ100 automatic gravity case packer erects RSC cases and drops the bags inside lying flat, by gravity. A gravity-fed case magazine, a set of suction cups and a chain drive prepare each case; a servo-controlled moving belt places the bags along the case and a double servo gate, which acts as a buffer between the packaging machine and the case packer, lets them fall inside. Run by an Omron PLC and Omron servo motors, it reaches up to 12 cases per minute.

In action

Why choose it

01

Erects the case and fills it

In one machine: it erects RSC cases from the magazine and drops the bags inside, lying flat and by gravity.

02

Precisely placed bags

A servo-controlled moving belt positions the bags along the case precisely and programmably.

03

Buffer between packaging machine and case packer

The double servo-controlled gate acts as a safety buffer between the packaging line and the case packer.

04

Constant speed

A chain drive positions the case at every station and a buffer box absorbs variations in the line, up to 12 cases per minute.

05

Omron control and 10" screen

Omron NX PLC with Omron servo motors, a 10" colour touch screen to manage the parameters and a top push-button panel with quick controls.

06

CE safety

Safety system on doors and openings in line with CE certification and a signal tower showing the machine status.

How it works

  1. Gravity-fed case magazine of the ECJ100 case packer with a flat case and the outfeed chute (render)

    Case magazine

The flat cases wait in the gravity-fed magazine, made to the customer's needs, held by pneumatic case stops.

  2. Suction cups on a moving carriage and chain drive of the ECJ100 case packer (render)

    Suction-cup extraction

A set of suction cups on a moving carriage takes the cases one by one and folds the bottom flaps, and the chain drive carries the case to each station.

  3. Servo-controlled moving belt of the ECJ100 case packer for positioning the bags (render)

    Servo-controlled belt

The bags arrive from the packaging machine on a servo-controlled moving belt that places them along the case precisely and programmably.

  4. Double servo-controlled gate of the ECJ100 above the case, gravity case packing of bags (render)

    Gravity case packing

The double servo-controlled gate acts as a buffer and drops the bags lying flat into the RSC case.

Labelling and printing at the end of the line

Complete this machine with automatic label application and printing systems to identify the product, ensure traceability and optimise logistics at the end of the line. They integrate into new or existing lines.

Label applicators

A compact, versatile format that can be installed at different points of the process, with high accuracy and connection to the plant control system and production management platforms.

Thermal transfer and inkjet

Variable information printed directly on the pack or label: thermal transfer (TTO, ribbon) for flexible film with high resolution, and non-contact inkjet for cardboard cases, pre-made bags and rigid packs such as tubs.

Print & apply

Prints the variable information on the label in real time and applies it to the pack automatically in a single process, with maximum accuracy and traceability.

Which packs

  • Cardboard cases (RSC, wrap-around or display)
  • Trays
  • Flow packs
