Flowpack packaging machines

600i inverted flow pack packaging machine

The 600i inverted flow pack packaging machine is designed for difficult products that cannot be fed in the standard way on a chain conveyor with pushers: the film comes from below and the product is loaded directly onto the plastic or onto a belt, reducing or eliminating transfer points. It wraps in pillow bags, gusset bags or strips of bags at up to 80 bags per minute on the FP 600i and 100 on the FP 600is.

Why choose it

01

Inverted film, fewer transfers

The product is loaded directly onto the film or onto a belt, without a chain conveyor with pushers, to reduce or eliminate transfer points.

02

For difficult products

Fragile, sticky or irregular products that cannot be fed in the standard way, in pillow bags, gusset bags or strips of bags.

03

Rotary cross sealing

Rotary sealing jaw with fixed cutting blade, heavy-duty jaws and PID-controlled temperature (±0.5 °C accuracy) on the touch screen.

04

Product protection

Product-in-position sensor to prevent trapping, automatic torque control on the cross sealing jaws and a no product, no bag system.

05

Plain or printed film

Works with plain film or film printed with an eye mark (SICK KT5 sensor), width-adjustable former and automatic product length change.

06

Premium-brand components

OMRON/LENZE PLC and servo motors, SICK/ROCKWELL safety sensors, AISI 304 stainless steel and an external, ventilated electrical cabinet with room for expansion.

Strip of bags

How it works

  1. Loading onto the film

The product is placed directly onto the film or onto the loading belt, without pushers; a sensor checks it is in position to prevent trapping.

  2. Bottom unwinding

The reel sits at the bottom and the film rises to the former; the SICK KT5 sensor reads the eye mark on printed film.

  3. Forming

The width-adjustable former wraps the product from below, forming the tube of the pillow or gusset bag.

  4. Longitudinal sealing

PID temperature-controlled jaws (±0.5 °C) close the longitudinal fin seal of the bag.

  5. Cross sealing and cutting

The cross-serrated rotary jaw seals and the fixed blade makes a zigzag cut between products, or leaves the strip uncut.

  6. Outfeed

The finished bag moves on to the metal detector, weight control and case packing.

Frequently asked questions

What is an inverted flow pack?

A flow pack packaging machine in which the film comes from below and the product is loaded directly onto the plastic or onto a belt, instead of a chain conveyor with pushers. This reduces or eliminates transfer points.

How does it differ from the flow pack 600?

The 600 feeds the product with a chain conveyor with pushers and reaches 200–250 bags per minute. The 600i is designed for difficult products that cannot be fed that way, at 80–100 bags per minute, and the FP 600is handles products up to 1000 mm long.

What speed does it reach?

Up to 80 bags per minute on the FP 600i, with an asynchronous motor, and up to 100 on the FP 600is, with a servo motor.

What is the difference between the FP 600i and the FP 600is?

The FP 600i has an asynchronous motor, 4 kW and handles products 260 to 450 mm long; the FP 600is has a servo motor, 5.5 kW, reaches 100 bags per minute and handles products from 100 to 1000 mm.

What pack formats does it make?

Pillow bags, gusset bags and strips of bags, with products up to 290 mm wide and 80 mm high.

What film can it use?

Heat-sealable films, laminates (for example OPP+PE) and cold-seal films, plain or printed with an eye mark. Reels up to 600 mm wide, 350 mm in diameter and 40 kg, with a 76 mm core.
