Flowpack packaging machines

Flow pack 600 packaging machine

The flow pack 600 packaging machine wraps solid products, individually or in compact groups, in pillow bags made from a heat-sealable, laminated or cold-seal film reel. It is built to the customer's requirements, with infeed conveyors of different sizes and pusher or belt infeeds, and reaches up to 200 bags per minute on the FP 600 and 250 on the servo-driven FP 600s.

Why choose it

01

Made to fit each product

Infeed conveyors of different sizes and different product infeed types (pushers, belt…), to pack any solid product automatically.

02

Hygienic stainless steel design

Frame and product-contact parts in AISI 304 stainless steel, hygienic finish with easy cleaning access and castors for transport.

03

Rotary cross sealing

Rotary sealing jaw with fixed cutting blade and heavy-duty sealing jaws with PID-controlled temperature (±0.5 °C accuracy).

04

Product protection

Product-in-position sensor to prevent trapping, automatic torque control on the cross sealing jaws and a no product, no bag system.

05

Plain or printed film

Works with plain film or film printed with an eye mark (SICK KT5 sensor), width-adjustable former and automatic product length change.

06

Premium-brand components

OMRON/LENZE PLC and servo motors, SICK/ROCKWELL safety sensors and an external, ventilated electrical cabinet with room for expansion.

How it works

  1. Infeed

The chain conveyor with pushers (or a belt) brings each product into the machine; a sensor checks it is in position to prevent trapping.

  2. Unwinding

The reel holder with mechanical self-centring, at the bottom, feeds the film; the SICK KT5 sensor reads the eye mark on printed film.

  3. Forming

The width-adjustable former wraps the film around the product, forming the tube of the pillow bag.

  4. Longitudinal sealing

PID temperature-controlled jaws (±0.5 °C) close the longitudinal fin seal under the product.

  5. Cross sealing and cutting

The cross-serrated rotary jaw seals and the fixed blade makes a zigzag cut between products, with torque control against trapping.

  6. Outfeed

The finished bag moves on to the metal detector, weight control and case packing.

Frequently asked questions

What speed does the flow pack 600 packaging machine reach?

Up to 200 bags per minute on the FP 600, with an asynchronous motor, and up to 250 on the FP 600s, with servo motors and motion control.

What is the difference between the FP 600 and the FP 600s?

The drive and the speed. The FP 600 has an asynchronous motor (gear motor) and 5 kW; the FP 600s has a servo motor with OMRON/LENZE motion control PLC, 5.5 kW, and goes from 200 to 250 bags per minute.

How does it differ from the flow pack 600i?

The 600i is the inverted version, with the film underneath, for difficult products that cannot be fed with a chain conveyor with pushers. The 600 is the standard and faster flow pack.

What product size does it handle?

Up to 500 mm long, 290 mm wide and 90 mm high, with a 300 mm cross sealing jaw.

What film can it use?

Heat-sealable films, laminates (for example OPP+PE) and cold-seal films, plain or printed with an eye mark. Reels up to 600 mm wide, 350 mm in diameter and 40 kg, with a 76 mm core.

What products does it pack?

Solid products individually or in compact groups, such as biscuits, bakery products, bars, fruit, pet food or non-food products.

Can it pack in a protective atmosphere?

The software comes prepared for adding inert gas (MAP) in the future, and it is offered as an accessory along with a printer, labeller and adjustable former.

Is this the right machine for your product?

Tell us what you pack, in which format and at what speed. An engineer will reply with a proposal.
