HFD horizontal packaging machine
The HFD horizontal packaging machine is the twin-lane version of the HF: it forms, fills and seals two bags at a time from a film reel and reaches up to 140 bags per minute (HFD 130 and HFD 160) or handles bags up to 220 mm wide (HFD 220). Designed for high output, it works with powder, solids or liquids with all kinds of dosing systems and keeps the same perfect pack finish.

How it works
Unwinding
The reel holder with expanding shaft feeds the film; the machine warns when the film runs out and has a large rear area for reel splicing.
Forming
The forming triangle shapes the bag and a punch makes the holes for the stand-up base. Vulcanised rubber rollers pull the film.
Bag sealing
Bottom sealer, vertical seals and a seal cooling station to prevent bubbles and creases. From here on everything is done in duplicate.
Cutting
The colour sensor reads the eye mark on the film and the adjustable hardened blades cut two bags per cycle. Easy-open notch option.
Opening and filling
A double set of suction cups opens the top and bottom, the nylon cone with air blowing opens the base and the fibre-optic sensor checks each bag is open before filling.
Closing and outfeed
Top stretching for crease-free sealing, double top seal with a heated silicone backing pad and an integrated outfeed conveyor.

What speed does the HFD horizontal packaging machine reach?
Between 80 and 140 bags per minute on the HFD 130 and HFD 160, and between 60 and 90 on the HFD 220, which takes larger bags. The actual figure depends on the product and the bag size.
How does it differ from the HF horizontal packaging machine?
In speed. The HFD duplicates every station after the former to work two bags at a time, hence its up to 140 bags per minute compared with 40–70 on the HF 220. In return, the bag width is smaller: 90 to 220 mm.
What bag formats can it make?
3- and 4-side seal bags, doypacks, and bags with zipper, handle, special shape or spout, all formed from the reel.
What bag sizes does it handle?
HFD 130: from 90 × 140 to 130 × 230 mm. HFD 160: from 90 × 140 to 160 × 280 mm. HFD 220: from 100 × 140 to 220 × 330 mm with a gusset of up to 60 + 60 mm.
What film reel does it need?
Reels up to 550 mm in diameter with a 70/72 or 150/152 mm core. The reel width depends on the model and the bag format.
