What does the EPCP-15 wrap-around case packer do?
It picks, erects and closes wrap-around cases from flat cardboard blanks: it forms the case around the product, loads it and seals it with hot-melt glue or adhesive tape, at up to 15 cases per minute.
Which case types and sizes does it handle?
Wrap-around cases and shelf-ready display trays (open-front trays ready for the shelf). Length 200 to 500 mm, width 180 to 400 mm and height 100 to 400 mm. Other versions of the machine are available for larger or smaller cases.
Which products can it pack?
Pouches and doypacks, bottles, cans or cartons. Product infeed is adapted to each case: simple single-layer transfer, mechanical or servo-driven lifting, drop stacker or pick & pack gripper.
How is the case closed?
With hot-melt glue applied by a Nordson ProBlue unit, or with adhesive tape. Installed power is 4 HP with tape sealing and 8 HP with hot-melt.
Is the format changeover quick?
Yes. Cases are erected with a suction-cup system and the format change is quick, guided by digital counters, so switching from one case to another takes short stops.
Which controls does it use and how does it fit into the line?
Siemens or Omron PLC and a 10-inch colour touch screen. It sits at the end of the line, after the packaging machine, checkweigher or metal detector, and before palletising.
